Megatron's #2 Arm Gun - Female Decepticon

Magna II was a Decepticon test robot created as a counter for the Autobot's female commander, Aleta One. Created during the second Cybertronian War, her name was taken from Megatron's Arm Gun, code named MAGNA I. Megatron felt that a more useful gun could be created that could work independantly from himself. This gun would have two extra modes to do this, other than its cannon root mode. The first being a vehicle mode so that it may transport itself. Using a standard Decepticon tank terret and a hovercar bed, they created a hover tank that could travel at excess of 200 mph. Unfortunately, to make the tank capable of transforming to root mode, the tank was made relatively small and light.

This also created another problem in its next mode, a robot mode. Being so light, the robot mode could not be very stocky, like most of the Decepticon warriors of that time. Most of the Decepticon warriors were male too, and the Autobots were having some success with a new breed of female warriors. They were light, agile, and able to be on top of you faster than you could think. Megatron gave the go ahead to make the robot mode of his new arm gun female.

She would have the same speed, agility and capabilities of Aleta One, plus a triple-changing frame. For weapons, she carried an Arm Gun of her own, and a pair of rocket powered knives, which would punch through anything they struck. The major difference between herself and Aleta was suppose to be her personality chip layout. Autobot females were allowed to have binary bonding with other Autobots. Megatron thought this to be an inhibition (when it really was not), and ordered Vector Sigma to withhold emotional systems concerning binary bonding. Whether Vector Sigma did not understand the statement, or whether it decided to do as it pleased, is not known. As it was, Vector Sigma gave Magna II a full emotional system.

Her first mission was an attack on a garrison of female Autobots in the eastern section of Iacon, the Autobot headquarters. With her two extra modes, the female Autobots stood little chance. In subsequent weeks, she had nearly decimated the ranks of the females. Megatron was more than pleased.

But then, something odd began to occur. Suicidal raids by enraged Autobot males who's binary mates had been injured or destroyed. They were making raids on targets that were thought to be secure from attack. Elite guards were wiped out by single Autobots. And in most cases, the Autobots would still managed to return to Iacon to be rebuilt. This worried Megatron. Little could be done to stop these rampaging Autobot males. If secured areas were easy to hit by these distraught Autobots, then so was Decepticon Headquarters. He gave the order to Magna that, unless it was necessary, to stop fighting the female Autobots independently. This way he figured that he could control her actions better.

Megatron's troubles were just beginning, though. Magna was now feeling the same binary bonding that the Autobot females had. And her bond hold was for that Decepticon on the other end of that arm she was mounted on. The trouble was that Megatron had little to do with his emotional processor (if he even had one!), and had little time for the new emotional feelings coming from his arm gun. Other Decepticons were willing, but she was "attached" (ooog!) to Megatron.

Finally, when Megatron would ignore Magna's advances, she would go out and take her frustrations out on some female Autobots. This made for more attacks by enraged Autobots, which, in turn, gave Megatron a headache. Megatron had enough.

After another attack by an outraged Autobot, Megatron informed Magna over a telemonitor that she was to cease all operational duties as a Decepticon warrior, and that she was dismissed as his arm gun. She begged him to reconsider and that she needed him. He noted that her emotional outburst was unlike a true Decepticon, and that there was no room for it in the ranks. It finally occurred to her that Megatron was not, nor would he ever be bonded to her.

That night, she took her rage out on the Decepticon Southwestern Guard station. She disabled 500 Decepticons, then blew the munitions dump in the center of the complex, destroying the complex, the Decepticons, and some Autobot commandos who were going to do the same thing she did.

With the situation getting out of hand, Megatron surprised both Decepticon and Autobot leaderships by announcing a cease-fire and a request for help from the Autobots to stop the run away Magna. The Autobots balked at the request for help until Magna blew Iacon's power center sky high.

With a hunting party of Autobot leaders Optimus Prime and Aleta One, and Decepticons Starscream, Shockwave, Frenzy and Megatron, they set out to find the rouge Magna II.

They cornered Magna on the edge of Decepticon territory near Decepticon Headquarter's power center. And like a cornered beast, the only thing she could do was lash out. In the ensuing battle, she had managed to damage everyone. But Starscream's Null Ray finally got her squarely.

As they toted her off to the Decepticon Detention Center, she vowed to get Megatron some day. For this, Megatron removed her personality chip for storage. Unlike standard cages, where the whole robot would be stored, chip removal meant that her body would probably be recycled, and her chip either eventually modified, or used for extra power. As the war progressed, most of these chips were forgotten, hence the availability of her chip when the Autobots were releasing their comrads.

Magna II is a cool headed female Decepticon. Unlike most of the Decepticon males, she doesn't scream, yell, panic, or run from a fight. She does have a revengeful streak in her though, and had dedicated her life to torment Megatron/Galvatron. When not in battle, one could easily speak to her as if she was a friend, not foe. It is this that Optimus Prime notes, may turn Magna's allegiance to the Autobots.

As we see in the following story, Magna's allegiance might already be claimed.

ABOUT THE STORY

This was the story I wrote while waiting to hear from Marvel Productions about The Secret of Ultra Magnus. As her stats say, I felt Megatron/Galvatron needed someone to counter Optimus' Eleta. Just because she'd rather cut his energon feed doesn't mean she doesn't care for him, right?
